Applying for JIEB examinations
Joint Insolvency Examination – November 2021 sitting
At the time of writing (June 2021) the Joint Insolvency Examination Board (“the Board”) sees no reason why the November 2021 sitting of the Examination should not go ahead as intended.
The Board is, however, alert to the fact that, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, circumstances may change and that regulations or other restrictions may be introduced by the Governments at Westminster and/or Holyrood which affect the November 2021 sitting. The Board will keep abreast of any developments and make further announcements as necessary.
The Board is pleased to confirm that, as last year, the final date and time for submission of an application to sit the Examination will be be extended. For the 2021 sitting the deadline will be 4 pm on Thursday 30th September 2021. Obviously, it would assist our Secretariat if application entries could be submitted in good time and earlier than the final date.
The Board also confirms that, again as last year, any candidate who has applied to sit the Examination in November subsequently has to withdraw for medical reasons (COVID related or other ), they will be able to do so and, at their option, their Examination fee will either be carried over to a subsequent sitting or refunded in full. Such applications, supported by medical evidence, must be made at least 24 hours before the examination sitting to assist all the necessary administration processes.
